Buildings should be designed and built to be flexible and adaptable to serve multiple and changing uses. How can you predict the different ways various user groups interact with and within a building? KONE was the first elevator company to offer such a service to architects, builders, consultants, and developers. They have expanded on its approach to people flow optimization, upgrading its tools and adding, for example, interior architects and data scientists to its own team of people flow experts. Want to integrate your design solution with KONE’s offering? Let us hear from you!
Buildings are becoming smarter at an increasing rate. Touchless interfaces, voice assistant / AI-assisted user interfaces are becoming commonplace in new buildings being built today. KONE enables smart construction with flexible solutions for elevator construction time use, creating an efficient flow of goods and people. We are constantly searching for technologies and services for construction sites, along with data-driven digital solutions adding value for building users and/or building operators. Does your startup work on anything that is applicable?
KONE modernization solutions are tailored to exact needs, ranging from component upgrades to full replacement of existing equipment, as well as retrofit installations. Their purpose is simple – to keep equipment running safely and reliably for the building lifecycle.
In the elevator and escalator industry, material and energy consumption reduction is a critical trend. This includes the development of light materials, renewed materials, energy-saving solutions, material and material flow optimization, and solutions for smart and energy-saving transportation. We are also on the lookout for circular innovations for product end-of-life, the second life of components, and reusing/upcycling components or materials.
People flow is the way how people move in and between buildings. Good people flow means people moving smoothly, safely, comfortably, and without waiting. To constantly improve our offering, we are seeking new services and solutions improving people flow between and inside buildings. These can be robots taking care of in-house logistics and serving as receptionists, and mobile apps guiding our way in complex building environments. Solutions that utilize KONE’s Cloud API to build new services for tenants and property management around the world. At KONE, we have a responsibility to help keep society running and critical services operational, especially given the Covid-19 situation. We can already see how digital technologies have a more prominent role in people flow.
