Will your company integrate your new tech solution with KONE’s Cloud APIs? Will you shape the construction industry in unique ways?

This fall, KONE is looking for new solutions that unlock new experiences and services in people flow, which can improve convenience, security and safety. To give you more insights on the latest opportunities with KONE, we interviewed Jukka Salmikuukka, Head of Ecosystem Business at KONE, for an insight into industry trends and what it means to work with KONE.

How do you see the future of the construction industry?

Nowadays, trends are shifting towards higher expectations for an immaculate end-user experience. In the elevator and escalator industry, the end-user experience is a critical success factor. Our customers expect smart and customised services to address their needs more accurately. Buildings are already even being assessed on user-experience standards like WELL, which explores how buildings’ design and operations are optimized to advance end-users’ well-being.

What are the next steps?

The smooth flow of people and goods is mandatory for any well-functioning building. Various building systems once operated in their own separate silos, must now increasingly interact with each other to enable new services for building users. To address the increased demand for improved user experience, we need to take advantage of new emerging technologies. We have opened our Cloud APIs for our selected partners, and we want others to work with us and help our customers succeed!

Why should startups work with KONE?

We want to combine strengths, KONE’s long-time expertise and know-how from our industry with your innovative capabilities, to create more comprehensive solutions for the 1 Billion daily users of our equipment. At the same time, we want to help our customers to reach their business goals. With us, you can scale for a global market and become a stronger player among your own competitors!
