Autoliv and Epiroc Move Forward with 4 Startups in their First China Innovation Cycle

Just in time before the holidays: the Autoliv and Epiroc teams, the companies of this year’s Venture Client Cycle in China, have made their selections! A total of four companies, one for each business opportunity, will move forward to partnership discussions. The next step for the startups is creating proof-of-concept proposals with their Foundry companies.

The business opportunities of Autoliv, a global leader in automotive safety, focused on finding leather products that allow light transmission, and developing the next generation of automotive safety detection systems. Epiroc, a global leader in sustainable mining equipment, had business opportunities for data flow and collection from field equipment, as well as safety gear identification solutions. Startups with leading technologies in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, as well as innovative and sustainable leather materials have entered themselves into this round of innovation partner pitching.

With this Venture Client Cycle, Foundry companies have now completed the third China focused cycle. Having started these engagements almost two years ago, we are incredibly proud of the journey so far. Our next cycle in China is due to start in March, 2022, just a few weeks after the Spring Festival. Due to the rapidly shifting global Covid situation, we made the decision to cancel the startup showcase event that was originally designed to happen offline in Shanghai for the now completed cycle. With the situation permitting, we are planning to combine the new cycle’s Value Proposition Day with our canceled event, and return with a larger Startup Showcase in Shanghai next June.
