Founders: Check Out Stora Enso’s Needs in Sustainable Reusable Food Packaging
Stora Enso invites startup partners to join them in co-developing reusable food packaging to reduce the ecological footprint of the take-out industry.
The first Venture Client Cycle of 2022 has kicked off. Stora Enso is once again joining Combient Foundry to create impactful products in the reusable packaging sector. Startups with innovative solutions and materials are sought to join Stora Enso and co-create new solutions for advancing common sustainability targets.
This business opportunity is all about driving the Stora Enso sustainability agenda. Their strategy is laid out to transform material systems to help combat climate change, ensure biodiversity, and promote circularity. Their work has had a high impact too – just last fall, Stora Enso was rated to be in the top 1% of sustainably operating global suppliers by Ecovadis, the sustainable supplier rating organization.
Sustainable reusable food packaging is important for the environment and soon a legislative requirement. The EU recently passed regulation which states that restaurants need to make their take-away packaging reusable by 2024. The solution Stora Enso requires should satisfy all food safety regulations. Ideally, the solution would meet all key requirements, such as food contact safety, industry-grade washability, grease resistance, heat safety, and recyclability.
