STOCKHOLM – September 17th, 2025
Combient Foundry, a leading industrial venture client platform in the Nordics, today announced a collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate industrial AI innovation and digital transformation in Europe. The initiative combines Combient Foundry’s proven venture client model with AWS’s advanced cloud and AI/ML capabilities and startup programs.
“Working with AWS in our key markets is a significant milestone in our mission to drive industrial innovation,” said Lauri Lehtovuori, CEO of Combient Foundry. “By bringing together our trusted industrial enterprise network with AWS’s technical and industrial experts, and global cutting-edge startups, we’re opening new ways for our member companies to access and implement AI technologies at higher velocity, lower cost, and better scalability.”
The combination of AWS’s venture innovation approach and Combient Foundry’s venture client model creates a powerful innovation engine for European industrial manufacturers. Combient Foundry brings deep relationships with enterprise decision makers and helps its group members prioritize business challenges and opportunities with direct impact on revenue and profitability. AWS, in turn, brings its industry and startup experts to help quickly identify required technological capabilities for a specific challenge or focus area, discover the right startups with matching capabilities, and drive the collaborations forward.
“By working with Combient Foundry, we’re creating an opportunity for industrial companies to innovate at startup speed while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability,” said Tanuja Randery, VP and Managing Director of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “Our collaboration will help accelerate the adoption of AI technologies across the industrial sector, from modernizing the shop floor with robotics and computer vision, to accelerating product development and enabling increased experimentation across the entire enterprise.”
“At KONE, we believe innovation thrives when great technology meets real-world challenges. By collaborating with startups and global tech leaders, through our collaboration with Combient Foundry, we’re able to explore new ideas faster, scale promising solutions and ultimately deliver better outcomes for our customers. As KONE has built its digital platform on AWS and we actively co-innovate together using AWS technologies and innovation methodology”, says Amy Chen, Chief Innovation Officer, KONE. “I’m happy to see this partnership creating a valuable pathway to accelerate impact across the industrial sector.”
The collaboration focuses on a series of events and workshops around AI, end-to-end digitization, climate tech, and smart manufacturing, allowing industrial companies to adopt market-ready solutions faster while giving startups direct access to Europe’s leading industrial decision-makers in a series of executive events with different themes, and through direct support of Combient Foundry members.
This includes Combient Foundry’s flagship event during 2025, the Industrial Future Summit on September 25 at Artipelag in Stockholm. AWS will serve as a main partner for the event, which brings together 500 senior decision-makers from leading European industrial companies, including CEOs, EVPs, and VPs, alongside top startup founders, investors, and technology experts. The summit will feature sessions focused on Generative AI for engineering, digital twins, AI in smart manufacturing, and climate tech, where startups building on AWS will engage directly with Combient Foundry member companies to explore concrete commercial opportunities. Additional executive level events are planned across Europe later this year.
“This engagement represents a win-win for all participants,” Lauri Lehtovuori adds. “Industrial companies gain fast access to vetted, cutting-edge solutions, while startups benefit from accelerated go-to-market opportunities with major industrial players. By leveraging AWS, we are creating a powerful platform for industrial innovation in Europe.”
