Scania is setting a clear strategy for Dual Brand Sales which incorporates external Bus & Coach Builder Partners worldwide.
The desired state is an efficient build process all the way through pre-sales, order, build, and handover of the complete Bus or Coach.
Today, the pre-delivery inspection, called Quality Assessment (QA), is conducted by the closest Scania Dealer where the Bus or Coach have been produced and the process is unclear and costly.
Our vision is to be the most preferred chassis manufacturer among our Bus & Coach Builders, meaning the build process must be built with service mind, accessibility, and easiness and live up to a solid Scania quality level.
Several Scania Distributors / Bus & Coach Builders need to call the QA.
Scania Dealers need to be trained on how to conduct and store conducted reports in some systems.
The process needs to be demand-driven and flexible putting the Bus & Coach Builder in focus.
A Bus & Coach Builder Portal is currently under development, similar to this: link.
The platform could somehow be utilised to call of QA’s.
An expertise department from Scania HQ is today educating each Bus & Coach Builder on how to build on a Scania chassis, and our Dealers on how to conduct a QA.
Today app. 130 Bus & Coach Builders builds on Scania chassis annually, which corresponds to 3% of the global Bus & Coach volume produced annually. To capture growth the process needs to be more efficient and include e.g. Train the Trainer set-ups, remote technicians for expertise etc.
