Tetra Pak, the world leader in food processing and packaging solutions, wants to increase transparency and improve quality assurance in the food supply chain by leveraging traceability data of food packages. Can you help us create innovative solutions for consumer engagement, quality assurance, or data exchange?
Theme Description
For Tetra Pak, connecting the food industry is becoming increasingly pervasive. Over the next five years, food and beverage companies will seek to gain greater control of their respective supply chain to achieve full traceability of their products all the way to the consumer and increase efficiency and cut costs.
Connected, Traceable Packages is an area with enormous potential Tetra Pak and its customers. Each package can be printed with a unique QR code for product. This can also be deployed in consumer engagement solutions towards end-users, in which case aggregated data is used to ensure the integrity of the user’s personal data. By creating relevant offers and employing data in the right way, new business opportunities are created.
Opportunity Overview
We have identified a great potential in better utilizing the traceability data of our food packages, in order to help our customers gain better control over their supply chain.
In essence, each package produced by Tetra Pak can be printed with a unique QR code for product traceability throughout the value chain to keep track of stock or of sales. Our aim is to co-create innovative solutions with startups to enable traceability along the entire food supply chain and through that, improve quality assurance and increase transparency in the supply chain. For example, we are looking for new solutions in innovative consumer engagement, solutions for counterfeit prevention, and tools for data exchange along the supply chain. Read a few of our examples below bearing in mind your solutions may go above and beyond them, or even be something completely different.
Examples we're looking for
Transparency in Food Supply Chain using Traceability Data
Our package traceability data can be used to increase transparency in the consumer end of the supply chain through innovative engagement of Chinese consumers. We are looking for solutions to improve consumer support by gamification, augmented reality, and visualization of information stored in unique QR codes. What do you have to offer?
Quality Assurance in Food Supply Chain using Traceability Data
Our package traceability data can also be used to improve quality assurance in the supplier end of the supply chain. For example, we are looking for different ways to trace back the materials, production quality, and even productivity of our packages by using the QR codes printed on them. How would you enable this?
Enabling Traceability in Food Supply Chain
The material providers, converters, and food producers use different systems and tools to manage their supply chain data. We want to enable an increased exchange of the data along the entire supply chain with data exchange, -cooperation and –translation tools. What do you have to offer in this space?
