The business need of Husqvarna Group is to develop a scalable, digital, and intuitive preventive maintenance system that improves efficiency and consistency across our global operations. By leveraging insights from dealers, customers, and digital sources, we aim to modernize our current approach. We’re seeking innovative, data-driven solutions to enhance service quality, optimize spare parts usage, reduce warranty costs, and strengthen customer retention.
Opportunity overview
Husqvarna Group operates in a fast-moving market with frequent product launches and a large installed base. Yet, our preventive maintenance strategy is outdated. Current plans are not easy to manage, and disconnected from live product data and systems, leading to inconsistent service and poor visibility for technicians.
We aim to create a scalable, digital, and intuitive solution for developing and managing preventive maintenance plans, starting with one flagship product. The system should integrate CAD data, workshop manuals, and other resources to improve accessibility and visualization of service tasks.
While the solution space is open, some potential solution areas include:
- AI or ML for data extraction, content generation, or pattern recognition in service history
- Augmented Reality (AR) or Digital Twin solutions for interactive maintenance instructions
- Knowledge Platforms or CMS to manage and deliver structured maintenance content
- Low-code / workflow platforms to link disparate sources of service-related information
- Simulation tools to estimate standard times or visualize component wear
- Smart authoring tools that generate service tasks from product documentation
Your opportunity with Husqvarna
We want to develop a prototype using one hero product, leveraging existing data sources (CAD, manuals, parts lists, etc.) to demonstrate:
- How a digital maintenance plan could be created or improved
- How it can be visualized or accessed by a service technician
- How it can be maintained, updated, and scaled
Key success criteria includes:
- Usability – Is the solution intuitive for service teams?
- Scalability – Can the solution be applied across products?
- Maintainability – Can the content be easily updated over time?
- Integration Potential – Can it work with existing systems/data (or can it simulate this)?
- Speed to Value – Can a prototype be developed quickly with available data?
The desired outcome is a working prototype that demonstrates a smarter, more scalable approach to preventive maintenance with a real-world demonstration using one of our flagship products, validated by internal stakeholders (R&D, Service, Quality), and showing clear potential to scale across products and regions.
We invite startups, scale-ups, and solution providers with expertise in AI, AR, data integration, content management, or service transformation to help us reimagine preventive maintenance in the digital age.
