Drawing upon a legacy of expertise, Munters has honed the art of creating optimal climates for residential and industrial contexts through its advanced air temperature and humidity management technologies. With each scenario presenting a unique starting point, the landscape of air treatment applications is remarkably diverse. This underscores the opportunity to overcome conventional boundaries, capitalizing on the potential to integrate moisture capture solutions into unanticipated contexts, such as industrial environments and cooling technologies.
In this context, the solution should be able to operate even at moisture levels lower than 20% relative humidity and provide clean but not necessarily potable water (liquid). Thus, Munters’ interest is in water harvesting techniques based on, for instance, sorbent technology.
In addition, the solution and/or system of solutions should aim to maximize energy efficiency, as sustainability is one of the main drivers behind innovation in this field, ideally using renewable and eco-friendly energy sources. As an industrial setup typically requires handling up to 20,000 liters per hour, the ideal solution would be robust, small-sized, easily implementable, and scalable.

Absorption scalability
Solution and/or system of solutions that can absorb moisture from dry air. The solution should be scalable to collect larger amounts of moisture from the air through a small volume or area.
Energy and self-sufficiency
Solutions that can be combined with energy efficient power sources enabling the whole system to operate even in places with limited energy supply. Solutions that can be self-sufficient on only renewable energy sources are favorable.
Innovative materials
Solutions and materials that can absorb tremendous amounts of moisture relative to their weight and require little energy to re-release water molecules from the desiccant.
