Opportunity

Scania, a world-leading provider of sustainable transport solutions, is looking for solutions to streamline their part approval process. Scania aims to reduce manual work in the sharing of changes, approvals and other critical information between departments and external suppliers in engineering and design processes. If you can provide us solutions that utilize automation or Artificial Intelligence to handle the documents in an efficient, safe and error-free manner, we would like to hear from you.

Opportunity overview

In a large organization like Scania, several stakeholders need to be included in engineering change orders. Information from communication between R&D, purchasing, design and external suppliers is currently handled and inserted manually to the purchasing system, but does not automatically flow to the Scania PDM and production tool. In such a complex scenario, the required manual work increases the risk of incorrect or outdated information and delays in the process. The regulation and strict process requirements of automotive industry increase the importance of correct and efficient information and document management. Also, the secure handling of the information is highly important.

Project managers use significant amount of time to secure and confirm that documents have correct information and are shared with appropriate stakeholders and systems. The lead time of product approvals and design/purchasing confirmations is highly dependent on individual availability.

We are looking for solutions to increase the automation and efficiency in the process and minimize the need for manual work and approvals. The envisioned solution should automate the flow of information between the systems and ensure the correctness of the information by utilizing technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. The solution capabilities should include analyzing and extracting data from drawings and documents.

Your opportunity with Scania

The business need presented in this opportunity considers several departments and thus, is a great opportunity to widely implement your solution to the Scania systems. We are looking for innovative solutions that utilize AI to reduce the labor of the people, freeing up time for more productive work. Scania is open to different ways to work together, meaning the solution can include co-development or be off-the-shelf. The solution should take into account the strict privacy and security requirements.

Examples we're looking for

Minimize faults

Document handling and data input manually can lead to human errors. The tool should be helpful to minimize the errors in human input, through process automation or error detection.

Automate information flow

The information flow between several different departments and external suppliers can be cumbersome and slow. The visioned solution should help to automate the information flow process as much as possible.

Secure correct information in Scania systems

The information in Scania tools and systems needs to be correct and accurate. The solution should be able to identify whether the information is correct or not, while taking into account the privacy and security concerns.
