Stora Enso is looking for solutions to identify and optimize their energy consumption, alongside potentially other utilities such as compressed air, water, and chemicals in the production process. The primary objective is to attain a clearer understanding of electricity and steam usage, pinpointing indicators of inefficiencies and opportunities for reduction.
Opportunity overview
Stora Enso seeks to enhance decision-making for mill operators by offering fact-based support, establishing new benchmarks, and fostering ongoing improvement. While the production has a good overview of total energy usage, identifying detailed inefficiencies remains largely manual and inadequate. Resource consumption, including electricity, steam, fuel, compressed air, water, and chemicals, fluctuates significantly due to various factors such as product types, equipment status, design limitations, seasons, weather, and raw materials. Stora Enso is on the lookout for solutions to analyze these variations and optimize their use of energy and other resources. We are seeking innovative partners and solutions to develop widely scalable solutions to support Stora Enso’s sustainability and business targets. Piloting would happen in one board mill with successful solutions having the potential for broader implementation across Stora Enso’s mills.
Examples we're looking for
Energy usage visualisation solutions
Solutions giving the operators better overview of the energy usage level and indicators of potential inefficiencies.
Energy efficiency indication solutions
Innovative solutions to draw attention to the right parts of production process to indicate, where the energy usage level is not optimal.
Energy optimization
Guidance for operators and end-users on how to optimize the energy usage based on the prior visualization and indication of inefficiencies.
