HUGSI, developed by Husqvarna, is a digital service designed to promote urban sustainability by quantifying and monitoring green spaces in cities worldwide. We seek partnerships to commercialize and expand its reach globally by developing a curated marketplace for green and vegetation-related remote sensing data, enabling users such as municipalities, researchers, and forestry professionals to access, analyze, and utilize satellite and sensor data effectively.
Opportunity overview
Cities worldwide face the need to track, maintain, and improve green spaces to enhance urban living and support environmental health. HUGSI provides essential Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the extent and health of vegetation, helping cities track green space coverage, vegetation health, distribution, and other critical metrics.
We aim to build the solution into a remote sensing data marketplace, connecting various data sources (e.g., satellite, drone, and sensor data) and enabling insights for diverse applications like vegetation health monitoring, urban planning, and forestry.
A robust partnership network will help bring HUGSI to more markets, leveraging satellite data and Green KPIs to enable urban planners and municipalities to better manage green spaces. You can read more about HUGSI here.
Your Opportunity with Husqvarna Group
Currently, HUGSI end-users include city planners, municipal authorities, environmental agencies, urban landscape architects, and policymakers across more than 60 countries. We are actively seeking partnerships to commercialize and globally expand HUGSI’s reach while enhancing its capabilities to deliver green space insights derived from diverse data sources.
The marketplace targets a broad audience, including golf course managers, forestry professionals, construction planners, researchers, and academics, providing them with valuable insights into current and historical green data. This marketplace aims to aggregate offerings from various vendors delivering relevant green data insights or facilitating the creation of new datasets.
Requirements for startups submitting to this opportunity
- Proven experience with digital services or data analysis platforms
- Existing customers and references in urban or environmental sectors
- Interest in co-creating a marketplace using HUGSI’s existing infrastructure, preferably already working with a marketplace
In your submission, please share how you would advise Husqvarna Group to further commercialise HUGSI and what your role would be in advancing it. Your insights and subject-matter expertise are highly valued, and we encourage bold proposals and fresh insights, rather than sales pitches and a “we can do everything” -kind of attitude. Please be realistic about your key capabilities and what makes you unique, and share what you can and can’t do.
