New growth opportunities available for best-in-class energy startups.

Munters is a global leader in industrial dehumidification, cooling, and air treatment systems. The dehumidification process requires high-intensity heat for best operational efficiency. Munters is seeking for solutions to harness excess heat from industrial customers and facilitating this excess heat to Munters’ products at the client’s site. In essence, Munters aims to initiate a project with an innovative solution provider and one of their clients to develop waste energy management systems that increase operational efficiency, storage, and utilization of waste/excess heat.

Opportunity overview

Building on the expertise gained over 70 years in climate control systems, Munters aims to complement their proficiency in this field and take further steps on the sustainability journey to reduce emissions in scopes 1, 2, and 3. By delving into the realm of waste energy management, Munters can assist their clients in storing and utilizing overlooked energy generated from their operations. This presents a novel approach where Munters could collaborate with solution providers specializing in innovative methods for repurposing energy to optimize energy usage at client sites, such as those in the pulp and paper industry.

Examples we're looking for

Heat battery and converter

Solutions that encompass mechanisms designed to store excess heat for repurposing. These may involve storing heat chemically or physically, and potentially converting waste heat into other usable energy sources, such as electricity.

Heat recovery systems

Systems that entail the utilization of low-grade waste heat, repurposing it through upcycling mechanisms. This involves employing waste heat directly as a complementary resource in production.
